Training Courses & Programs
|

I know we keep using this picture with Brandon in it, but
it's the only one we have. Brandon successfully completed the Food Service Worker Program at
St. Clair College recently and has now found himself employment. Of the 19 students who graduated
15 are working in their new career on a full or part time basis.
The most recent course that we are
undertaking here at the Labour Adjustment Centre is the Facilities Mechanic. This
course will run for 28 weeks at St. Clair College and 25 laid off workers will be
participating. Joe Logan from our plant will be one of those participating and he
is looking forward to the challenge.
Two more of our ex-Mahle employees have also recently gone back to school, but in a vastly different
classroom setting. Kim Cousineau in taking the AZ truck licence and the Heavy Equipment Operator
program with the Transport Training Centre of Canada and Richard Hart is taking the Heavy Equipment
Operator program on its own at the same school.

Pension Information
|
The company has now given us a phone number for you to use in the event
that you wish to speak to someone regarding your pension.
The number is: 1-888-216-6777
We have spoken to the union about getting an up date on the pension situation. Chris Hutnik, who was our
National Rep, is putting together a package which will explain the whole process. When we have this
information we'll put it in our monthly newsletter, Forging Ahead, and also here on our page on this
website. (June 12th, 2008)
